Group Reactions for "The Chilling Innocence of Piracy"

After reading the article, "The Chilling Innocence of Piracy" our group had several different reactions. We were shocked at how involved the United States is in this issue. We also thought it was ridiculous that 61 ships have been attacked by pirates. We were suprised at how prepared the pirates are and at how well they plan their attacks. They have drinking water and gasoline and many other necessary supplies. They even carry their own lines and nets to catch fish and eat them raw. Overall, we were very interested to find that as much damage as piracy does, it can be found to have positive aspects like bringing nations together and helping them to form new alliances.
